Our remanufactured boat engines mirror the quality and performance of our newly produced engines – but are superior in terms of cost and reduced environmental impact. Our engine remanufacturing produces up to 56% less CO2 emissions compared to new engine production. We currently offer remanufactured D13 and D8 engines, and later this year, D4 and D6 engines will also be available.

The Volvo Penta complete reman engine range offers you a durable, quality-assured way to renew your vessel’s strength.
Our certified dealers remove your old engine and replace it with a Volvo Penta Reman engine, ensuring you are back on the job in no time. For D13 and D8 engines, the flywheel and PCU are carry over parts. For D6 and D4 engines, carry over parts include the flywheel, PCU, alternator, starter, dipstick, and belt cover. We’ve been remanufacturing marine engines and parts for over 60 years now. Through continuous innovation, we develop quality-assured repair methods to salvage components – and contribute to a circular economy.
Up to 60% of materials are reused
All remanufactured engine components are thoroughly cleaned, inspected and evaluated. We replace certain components that can’t be reused, bring the rest to good-as-new standard, and recycle non-reusable parts.
Up to 56% less CO2
Typically, only a small number of engine components need to be completely replaced. This means that our engine remanufacturing produces up to 56% less CO2 emissions compared to new engine production.

This is how we do it
Used genuine Volvo Penta engines, drivelines and parts are sent from authorised Volvo Penta marine dealers to collection centres around the world. The engines, drivelines and parts are then distributed to dedicated marine remanufacturing factories in France and Sweden.

Engines that need a second life are collected and shipped to our Marine Remanufacturing plants in Flen, Sweden, and Limoge, France. With over 60 years of remanufacturing experience, these facilities produce complete remanufactured D13, D4, D6 and D8 boat engines to the same standard as our new engines. Providing you with an affordable choice – that also contributes to a circular economy.
