Volvo Penta raises sustainability aims in podcast premiere

With the 2022 Miami International Boat Show around the corner (February 16th–20th), Volvo Penta has taken the opportunity to have a chat with the show organizer in the premiere episode of the Volvo Penta Podcast. Together, we reflect on being role models within the leisure boating industry and the importance of accelerating sustainability aims.

The Miami International Boat Show is one of the largest international boat shows in the global line up, and Volvo Penta has been in dialogue together with the show since 2018 around ideas to accelerate sustainability aims.

The first step was taken in 2019 when the Conservation Village was initiated as part of the show’s experience as a dedicated space for sharing information on protecting and promoting a healthy marine environment. Volvo Penta has been a key part of this activation as sustainability is a topic very much close to our hearts. This year, the plans are just as big as ever to raise awareness and engage with the boating community as well as visitors to the Miami International Boat Show.

In Volvo Penta’s premiere episode of its very own podcast, Heléne Mellquist, CEO of Volvo Penta, and Malin Schwartz, Volvo Penta’s SVP of Brand, Communication & Marketing, are joined by Larry Berryman, Vice President of Miami Boating, and a key player in organizing the Miami International Boat Show. Together, they share insights and personal reflections on steps towards increased sustainability that we can all take.

In the first episode of the Volvo Penta Podcast, we also share:

  • The importance of collaboration to amplify the sustainability messaging
  • How to increase awareness in the boating community
