Volvo Penta at Waste Expo 2021

For the first time in more than fifty years, WasteExpo was forced to cancel their 2020 live event as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. After careful consideration and implementing proper safety precautions, North America’s largest solid waste, recycling and organics industry event will return to the show floor in Las Vegas, NV on June 28th-30th 2021.

WasteExpo, produced by Waste360, will feature more than 600 exhibitors from around the world who all share the common goal of building a more sustainable future. Participants will have the opportunity to share and learn from industry experts in topics such as recycling, landfill, fleet management and collection, organics, safety, food recovery, and more.

Volvo Penta is proud to be exhibiting live at WasteExpo this year alongside sister company Volvo Construction, in booth 2963. We will have the Volvo Penta D8 Tier 4 Final on display – a suitable power choice for applications such as waste grinders, compost turners, landfill compactors, waste collection applications and more.

What to do in Las Vegas

City of Las Vegas COVID-19 Update

As of June 1st, Las Vegas has lifted all capacity limits and social distancing requirements on indoor and outdoor areas. They are following the CDC’s guidance on mask wearing, so those who have been fully vaccinated can choose to forego their masks. Although the city has reverted to pre-pandemic guidelines, there are still plenty of safe outdoor activities for visitors to partake in.

The Strip

One of the best ways to enjoy Las Vegas’ iconic nightlife scene is by cruising or walking down the Strip. Packed with endless neon lights, busy casinos and 24/7 buffets, the city’s most famous nightlife experiences are central to this active stretch of Las Vegas. You’ll even see tributes to a few wonders of the world with the half-sized Eiffel Tower Experience, and the Pyramid and Sphinx at the Luxor Hotel.

Gondola Rides at the Venetian

To get a taste of Venice without having to cross the Atlantic Ocean, the Venetian Hotel and Casino is open 24/7 to offer an Italian experience right in Las Vegas. Gourmet Italian eats, performances, pool cabanas and traditional gondola tours are offered at this fun destination.

The Hoover Dam

To escape the city’s excitement for a few hours, the Hoover Dam is a memorable site to visit. Holding Lake Mead – the United States’ largest water reservoir by volume – the Hoover Dam stretches 30 miles from the Colorado River to the Black Canyon. The massive concrete structure is surrounded by miles of rocky landscaping and open blue skies, which gives you the opportunity to enjoy less crowded attractions during your visit to Las Vegas’. Although the Visitor Center Tours and Exhibits remain closed at this time, you can still walk through all outdoor areas of the site.
