Targeting the rental industry, the Taylor TR1000 is driven by twin Volvo Penta TWD1673GE six-cylinder 16-liter 500 kW engines rated at 500 Kw at 1800 rpm. It can operate as an automatic standby unit or as prime power.
Volvo Penta’s Tier 4 Final engines provide industry-leading emission reduction and fuel economy with advanced Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology.
The TR1000 is targeted toward equipment rental companies, first responders, hospitals, manufacturing facilities and any other business needing a high volume of immediate power. The generators and accompanying components are packaged in a 40 ft container that is mounted to a triple-axle trailer for rapid deployment. The container incorporates two 1,000-gallon fuel tanks and DEF tanks for the SCR catalytic emission reduction system for 24 hours run time at the rated load. A separate 1,600-gallon DEF trailer is also available for extended prime power operation.
The two 500 kW engines can be paralleled for the total one-megawatt capacity or can be separated for redundant 500 kW applications. This reduces fuel usage and helps extend maintenance intervals when load demand can be carried by a single generator.
Taylor offers the TR1000 with an optional telematics function that provides users with the ability to check unit status, fault status and location and start or stop the unit remotely from a mobile wireless device. The unit can also connect with the building network using an ethernet connection for remote monitoring and control.
