Volvo Penta of the Americas
Volvo Penta is a leading supplier of engines and power systems for leisure and commercial boats and for industrial applications such as power generation, cranes and container handling equipment. Chesapeake, Virginia has served as home to the company’s operations in the Americas for nearly 30 years. Volvo Penta of the Americas also operates a R&D engine test facility on the Nansemond River in nearby Suffolk, Virginia. The organization is often regarded as a top place of employment, earning consecutive recognition as a Great Place to Work by the Great Place to Work Institute, and the 2019 employer of the year by leading trade publication Diesel Progress.

Volvo Penta Assembly Plant
Volvo Penta’s entire range of gasoline engines and many of the company’s sterndrives are produced in Lexington, Tennesse, and distributed worldwide. Volvo Penta recently made significant investments and improvements to the 210,000-square-foot facility, including installation of a state-of-the-art diesel engine test cell that enables the company to perform on-site testing and specification certification. The expansion also included addition of a production line for the final assembly of off-road diesel engines. This operation allows for the customization of orders and reduced delivery lead times for the company’s growing customer base in the North American market.

The Volvo Group operates an expansive Parts Distribution Center in Byhalia, Mississippi. The 1 million square foot facility is strategically located within minutes of FedEx’s World Hub at the Memphis International Airport, as well as a major railroad terminal in Memphis, Tennessee.

Local Warehouse
Opened in 2019, the Volvo Group parts distribution warehouse is located in Milton, Ontario and serves all of Canada. Sustainability is a focal point of operations for the warehouse with initiatives such as LED lighting, recycling and plans for a landfill free project. It is regularly recognized as a Top Performing Warehouse by industry solutions advisor Carlisle & Co, earning top 10 placement for four consecutive years. The warehouse is strategically located near the Toronto Airport to ensure efficient and effective parts delivery for our partners in the region.
