Our remanufactured boat engines mirror the quality and performance of our newly produced engines – but are superior in terms of cost and reduced environmental impact. Our engine remanufacturing produces up to 56% less CO2 emissions compared to new engine production. We currently offer remanufactured D13 and D8 engines, and later this year, D4 and D6 engines will also be available.

Volvo Penta Reman long block engines include cylinder block assembly with pistons, connecting rods, crankshaft, camshaft, cylinder heads, rocker mechanism, oil pan, injectors and valve cover.
Whether you want to upgrade your entire Volvo Penta IPS drive, replace specific parts like the upper or lower gear, or change the Steering Unit Servo (SUS), we offer a remanufactured option. We offer remanufactured IPS options for IPS versions 1/10, 15, 2/20, and 3/30 for complete drive replacement or specific parts.

For D13 and D8 engines, the flywheel and PCU are carry over parts. For D6 and D4 engines, carry over parts include the flywheel, PCU, alternator, starter, dipstick, and belt cover. Up to 60% of materials are reused
All remanufactured engine components are thoroughly cleaned, inspected and evaluated. We replace certain components that can’t be reused, bring the rest to good-as-new standard, and recycle non-reusable parts.
Up to 56% less CO2
Typically, only a small number of engine components need to be completely replaced. This means that our engine remanufacturing produces up to 56% less CO2 emissions compared to new engine production.

This is how we do it
Used genuine Volvo Penta engines, drivelines and parts are sent from authorised Volvo Penta marine dealers to collection centres around the world. The engines, drivelines and parts are then distributed to dedicated marine remanufacturing factories in France and Sweden.
At the facility, the unit – whether a marine engine, part or driveline – is dismantled into single components for quality control. Some boat engine components are replaced entirely, but the majority are checked, tested, and returned to good-as-new standards.
We're diligent about quality standards. In this industry, we’re alone in the fact that we own the drawings, specifications and data for each component. This is crucial for a quality-assured remanufacturing process. By measuring and controlling each step – and having a point of reference in the technical drawings – we can check each part and make sure it's up to our high standards.
Quality is essential in remanufacturing marine engines, drivelines, and parts. The same testing standards are required for all our marine parts, with reliability, durability, and performance in mind. Once the process is complete, the remanufactured boat engine or part is shipped to a warehouse or an authorized Volvo Penta dealer.
